On Behalf Of The Creatures

ethompson Animal Rights 4 1

Paradise was a place of peace, we say, and all the animals were gentle servants to us. Well, the world would yet be a place of peace if we were all peacemakers, and gentle service should we have of its creatures if we gave them gentle mastery. But so long as we make sport of slaying a bird and beast, so long as we chose to contend rather with our fellows than with our faults, and make battlefields of our meadows instead of pasture—so long, truly, the flaming sword will still turn every way, and the gates of Eden remain barred close enough till we have sheathed the sharper flame of our own passions, and broken down the closed gates of our own hearts.” – Ruskin.

These We have Not Loved

The subject of animal cruelty is of special importance at the present time, because we are convinced that the cruelties inflicted on animals are one of the main causes of the strife which exists between nations. But we believe that that millions of ‘kindly’ people who unwittingly cause pain to the animal creation would never dream of doing so if the fearful results were once made clear to them. Once man can realize that all true life is one, whether it be manifested in a human being or a creature, then he will come to see that any suffering he causes must inevitably rebound to his own hurt. The Rev. V.A.Holmes-Gore. ‘These We have Not Loved.’

The Hypocrisy of Religion

Religion pretends to offer guidance for a spiritual life, but under the velvet glove of contrived compassion there is an iron fist that knows no pity. No pity for any form of life. Millions of innocent animals, men, women and children have been tortured, sexually abused and murdered to fulfill the sadistic agenda of those whose only ambition is control—and the earth groans under the weight of man’s iniquity.
All forms of cruelty inflicted upon the creatures from hunting to flesh eating and vivisection have been upheld by the church, and throughout the Christian world, poor, patient, dumb creatures endure every species of torment without a single word being uttered by the teachers of religion or their congregations.

Here is an excerpt from the Catholic Dictionary, article – Lower animals.
‘The brutes were not created by god. They have no rights. The brutes are made for man, who has the same right over them which he has over plants and stones. He may kill them for his food; and if it is lawful to destroy them for food, and this without strict necessity, it must also be lawful to put them to death, or to inflict pain on them, for any good or reasonable end, such as the promotion of man’s knowledge, health, etc, or even for the purpose of recreation.’

Check out the video on my article Blow your Mind Gas and hear the Pope praise Lucifer as god of this world.

The more one thinks about the implications of flesh eating and the welter of cruelty and suffering it involves, the harder it is to believe that religious teachers ever succeeded in foisting upon their followers the astounding belief that it was a divinely appointed means of sustenance…unless their god is a demon. See my article: Unmasking of an Archon and Was Jesus a Vegan?

The Usurper

The fake apostle Paul who usurped the teachings of Jesus makes his contempt for those who abstain from flesh foods very clear. Romans x1v, 1-2 ‘One man hath faith to eat all things: but he that is weak eateth herbs.’

Neither did he care for animals as we see in Philippians iii, 2. He uses the word ‘dog’ as a term of contempt, and sneers at those who carry kindness to animals to its logical conclusion by becoming vegetarians.

The Church is powerless to free mankind from such evils as war, oppression and disease, for it does nothing to stop man’s oppression of the creatures. Religion in its arrogance even goes against the teachings of its own prophets.

Daniel I, 11-20. ‘Then said Daniel to the steward whom the prince of the eunuchs had appointed over him, ‘prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat and water to drink’ And at the end of ten days their countenance appeared fairer, and they were fatter in flesh, than all the youths which did eat of the king’s meat. And in every matter of wisdom and understanding, concerning which the king enquired, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his realm.”
Isaiah 1xvi, 3 shows quite plainly that the true prophets were opposed to human carnivorism. Thus we read: ‘He that killeth an ox is as he that slayeth a man.’ In the psalms, those who eat the creatures are referred to most significantly: ‘their throats are an open sepulchre.’ And in Amos vi, 4, there is severe condemnation of those who ‘eat the lamb out of the flock, and the calves out of the stall.’
Isaiah is not content with condemning flesh eating as murderous, for he goes on to depict a glorious future when the world will be fully redeemed and man will no longer kill the creatures for food or any other purpose: ‘The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid, and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.’ Hosea: ‘And in that day will I make covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the land, and will make them lie down safely.’
Murdering the Innocent
We alone of all the creatures on earth are ‘the guilty’. We alone are the real beasts, ever devising more horrible ways to destroy life, and in our arrogance and blind stupidity believe we are superior to other life forms.

Veganism: The humane diet.

“No longer now he slays the lamb that looks him in the face, And horribly devours his mangled flesh, Which still avenging nature’s broken law, Kindled all putrid humours in his frame, All evil passions and all vain belief, Hatred, despair, and loathing in his mind, The germs of misery, death, disease and crime.  Queen Mab.

I have been an ethical vegetarian for forty years and in the seventies and eighties, I was the press and legal officer for ‘The Hunt Saboteurs Association.’ A direct action group that disrupted bloodsports in the field. Trying to save hunted animals taught me a lot about Joe public.

There are many ‘well-meaning souls’, who turn off their television sets because it’s too disturbing to watch a documentary about cruelty to animals. ‘I can’t watch it. It’s too upsetting,’ they say as they shovel cancerous chicken bits loaded with antibiotics and growth hormones down their throats. They are too busy with the elitist ‘I programme’ of base instincts to really care about animals, and if challenged about eating the creatures will become hostile and full of self-righteous indignation.
I wonder how many people would be vegans if they had to kill the animal themselves. If all those that pose as animal lovers, were forced to slay their own prey, or failing this, to watch a butcher at work in the slaughter house, and then proceed to the dinner table. Many people who claim to be lovers of animals are very far from being so. They are bound to the sense world and suffer from compartmentalised compassion.

Compartmentalised Compassion

For a flesh eater to claim they love animals is the same as a cannibal expressing his devotion to the missionaries he consigns to the seething cauldron. The truth is that most people are indifferent to animal suffering. They have their compartmentalized compassion. ‘The cat and dog brigade’! But still use cosmetics and household products that are tested on the creatures: lipsticks, eyes shadows and shampoos that are rubbed into rabbit’s eyes, and all the millions of defenseless little creatures that are tortured and poisoned in the name of science. Most people are so concerned with self-aggrandisement and ego, they are just simpering sentimentality on legs. But they think they are spiritual, especially those in the New Age Movement which is nothing more than a psi-ops and distraction. See my article ‘Which Way is Truth’.

Does a spiritual person turn a blind eye to the agony of those that can’t fight back?

Do they continue to use products and services that claim the lives of billions of innocent creatures?

Cruelty is indivisible and we condone it by our selfishness and silence.
As Jim says in HeartStar when he sees all the dead creatures hanging on a barb wire fence, a vermin tree:
“Jesus!” Jim exclaimed. “Look at that!” he pointed to a barb wire fence hung with hundreds of bodies in different stages of decay: stoats, weasels, foxes, cats and different kinds of birds. “All that killing so a few yobs can shoot pheasants. If I’d known about this carnage, I would’ve rammed the glass of beer I bought the keeper down ‘is fuckin’ throat.’

 Bloodsports: the cowards war game

The hunting field is an excellent training ground for war, for is it not true that war and bloodsports are very similar pastimes? War is the absolute negation of humaneness and bloodsports are an excellent way of furthering the ‘war mentality, and as a school for callousness…bloodsports have no equal.’ Having spentHare's haed. years in the anti-hunting fields, I have come to the conclusion that the thrill of the chase and the kill is a form of sexual perversion…akin to satanic paedophilia.
And the macho shooters who have to make up their sexual inadequacies with a gun…an extension of the penis…bang bang! Or the low lives that dig out foxes and badger bait….they have serious mental problems.

The author holding the pathetic remains
of a hunted hare.

Cover-up of satanic paedophilia

It is interesting to note the cover up of child murder and paedophilia amongst politicians and blue-blood families…I wonder how many of them rode/ride to hounds? How many get their rocks off shooting birds…after all these soulless beings are not human, they are mindless fractals of the I programme…if you can’t eat it, fuck it, spend it, wear it, or use it for entertainment or experiment upon it…its not worth having. See my article ‘Humanity at the Crossroads.’

Barbarism at all costs
Our world is breaking down, our water, air and food is being poisoned, the animal nations are dying, and when guards have to be placed on the last white rhino on the planet…we had better pay attention. There is more going on than meets the eye. We need to understand the real problem and how our misery and heart hurt serves the system. See my article Meet the Firm and learn about the loosh.

Lovely post, Elva, and I truly enjoyed Part I.

I, too, abstain from animal foods of all types, and quit eating modern wheat over a year ago. My regimen is organic, vegan, and as compassionate as I’m capable of. My cosmetics and skin care are not tested on animals, nor do they contain any animal “byproducts.” At every meal, I thank everyone who had anything to do with getting that food to my plate. I treat the growers at the Greenmarket with respect and gratitude. I bring them dishes I’ve prepared from their lovely produce, and offer to share recipes when they like what they’ve tasted. Health and peace.

God bless the creatures–I just rescued a 90 pound dog Thursday and he responded to love and care immediately. Then I read the papers about him and was aghast at earlier assessments of him. They’d suggested muzzles and maybe even doggy Prozac! Love and TLC are so much more appropriate. God bless us all and keep up the good work, Elva! Loved your book!!

I had the opportunity to read your recent literary work and was quite pleased that I had done so. You seem to have a grasp of some profound concepts which were, in my opinion, allegorically well written. I am pleased to send positive vibrations toward that effort and await future installments. I went to your home page and enjoyed reading your postings. I was taken aback by the On Behalf Of Animals post. I agree with you in regard to the ethical benefits of vegetarianism. However, it seems your article became a rant against a philosophy. I concluded it would be interesting to check out the references made. It sees that you took all of them out of context and in that respect none were references as to what to or not to consume. I pray you haven’t taken similar liberties with references made in you other articles. If I were to use a Hebrew scriptural reference in regard to what was intended for food I believe I’d look to Gen. 1:29. “Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you.” NASB

      Thanks for your comment.
I would direct you to genesis ix, 2-3: ‘And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air; with all wherewith the ground teemeth, and all the fishes of the sea, into your hand are they delivered. Every moving thing that liveth shall be food for you; as the green herb have I given you.’
Is this out of context! I think not.
      one love
